Shear forces need to be applied for proper blending of drilling fluid chemicals. Some chemicals require high pressure shearing for full effect (emulifiers, viscosifiers). The Rotor HPS-01 is a high pressure shear unit designed for connection to a high pressure mud pump for high pressure shearing of drilling fluids when required.
The unit is equipped with a standard drillbit nozzle, installed in a standard high pressure block. Various nozzle sizes are available for different flows and pressures. The HPS-01 is delivered with a drop pipe and a flanged connection for easy installation on the tank top. The inlet is connected to a branch from the HP pump(s).
