Build-up of mud in the extract air ducting from shale shakers is a common and an increasing problem when the air velocity is increased to improve the working environment.

Build-up obstructs the airflow in the ducts and reduces the system’s efficiency. Manual ductwork cleaning introduces health risks. The Rotor MSS-01 is based on the principle of a ventilation louver. Drops and particles carried in the ventilated air are caught by foil shaped vanes when passing by, in principle a filter. To avoid buildup of mud on the vanes the system is normally equipped with a wetting system continuously spraying the separator, draining out the mud particles.
